Call Humane Digitale Transformation - Research (type C)
This funding ist for interdepartmental preparatory project with the aim of acquiring third-party funding. If the project is funded, the allocated budget must be spent by the end of 2026.

Submission Guidelines
At least two departments must be involved in a project, with as much equal participation as possible.
Call objective
The strategic thematic field Humane Digital Transformation (HDT) invites research proposals that advance a design, implementation and usage of technologies that respect and enhance human dignity, human rights, social relationships, and wellbeing. This call seeks innovative projects that strengthen digital literacy and autonomy, empowering individuals to critically engage with digital technology and thoughtfully consider their impacts on society and workplaces. We also welcome proposals focusing on assistive digital technologies that can significantly improve quality of life for people with diverse needs and abilities. Successful proposals will demonstrate, for instance:
We particularly value proposals that embrace user-centered approaches and inclusive design principles, ensuring that digital technologies are accessible, usable, and beneficial for diverse populations with varying needs, abilities, and contexts.Projects that contribute to achieving the four strategic goals of the thematic field (participation for all, empowerment of all participants, digital sovereignty, well-being and health) are encouraged. We only fund projects that are related to the human aspects of the digital transformation and that aim to have a positive social impact. |
