The Swedish Production Symposium (SPS) is a bi-yearly conference primarily organized by the Swedish Production Academy (SPA).
The Swedish Production Symposium 2026 (SPS 2026) is arranged for the 12th time. For the first time, at Luleå University of Technology we have the honor to welcome you to the beautiful arctic ice and snow of northern Sweden.
Submission Guidelines
The overall theme for SPS 2026 is the "Green Transition – Towards a Sustainable, Human-Centric, and Resilient Production". We invite authors to submit original scientific work or descriptions of industrial applications which are unpublished. You are welcome to submit one or more contributed papers whereas each submission has to fall in the scope of one of the following topics:
- Resource-efficient production
- Flexible production
- Virtual production development
- Humans in the production system
- Circular production systems and maintenance
- Integrated product and production development
- Industrial optimization and decision-making
- Cyber-Physical Production Systems and Digital Twins
- Innovative production processes and additive manufacturing
- Smart and resilient production systems and supply chains
- Linking research and education
ABSTRACT submission
Authors from academia, industry, and research institutes are invited to submit an abstract in the SPS'2026 Conference Management System (EasyChair), until 22 August 2025.
The abstract should include no author names, author affiliations, figures/tables nor any references.
Please structure the abstract using these headings:
- Title (preliminary)
- Keywords (3-5)
- Abstract (400-600 words). The abstract should give an outline of the final paper, indicating the paper’s merits and relevance to the symposium scope, a brief account of the results and the conclusions.
Notification of acceptance will be sent at the latest on 1 September 2025.
FULL PAPER submission
All authors must use the conference template (to be provided later) for their full papers while strictly following the instructions (to be provided later). The full paper should be submitted by the SPS2026 Conference Management System (EasyChair) by updating your previous abstract submission.
The final paper should be 8-12 pages long. The required language is English, and all submissions are made electronically. Submit the paper according to the deadline, 15 October 2025, as late submissions will not be considered in the review process.
Do not forget to activate and use spell-check in the word template before you send in the full paper.
All full papers will be subject to peer-review by the scientific committee. To increase quality and minimize the risk of bias, the review process is double blinded. To allow this, no name of authors should be included in the full paper manuscript to be reviewed. Authors are to be added in the final version of the camera-ready paper.
The abstract in the full paper should be maximum 300 words. Update the abstract in the EasyChair form so it is the same as in the full paper. Include 3-5 keywords in the full paper and update the keywords in the EasyChair form if there are any changes.
Review comments on full papers will be sent back to the corresponding author at the latest on 15 October 2025.
The modified final (camera-ready) version of the paper should be re-submitted before 23 January 2026.
For a paper to be presented at the symposium and published in the proceedings, at least one unique author per paper needs to be registered by the early-bird registration deadline on 15 January 2026.
